Within the Festivity of the Culture Ministry Day, the General Organization for Cinema has launched Cinematic Project under the title “Cinema National Library” at al-Kindi Movie Theatre in Damascus.
The project aims at protecting the Syrian cinema library which contains old films which are related to all aspects of political, economic and artistic life, so that they will be available for all people.
Director of the General Organization for Cinema Murad Shahin said that the General Organization for Cinema participated in the Festivity of the Culture Ministry Day with a very “remarkable, cultural and significant project” which is called “Cinematic Project.”
He added that the importance of the project comes from that fact that it is considered as a portfolio of the Syrian and global cinematic visual memory as the films will be archived and they will be available for all movie lovers.
He added that the Cinema National Library will open the door for all movie lovers to get acquainted with all the cinematic trends and personalities, and to watch films according to the best screening conditions.
