The Syrian national athletics team came first in the overall ranking of the West Asian Youth Athletics Championship for Men and Women which wrapped up activities on Thursday in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Syria came first in the medals table, obtaining 9 golds, 7 silvers and 5 bronzes, while Qatar came second with 8 golds, 6 silvers and 5 bronzes, while Iraq came third with 7 golds, 12 silvers and 6 bronzes.
